  • The ability to build your own ultimate fighting creature from body parts collected in battle. This creature's power is literally the sum of its body parts, and once created it will follow your commands Golem fashion.
  • Sequel to an award-winning Divinity RPG series, that makes use of the same classless system that was incorporated in earlier games, which allows you to choose your own path as you become a Dragon Knight.
  • For the first time, an RPG unlocks the power of the Dragon. Climb high and vaporize all that stands in your way as you strategically use both your human and dragon forms to defeat Damian and become the ultimate Dragon Knight.
  • Divinity II provides a wide range of moral choices while questing. When you make these choices, the consequences of your actions appear throughout game play, and keep the action exciting and intertwined.
  • Use of powerful Battle Towers, vast citadels accessible via the relic known as the Dragon Stone. The Dragon Stone allows you to teleport to the Battle Tower at any moment so that you can utilize the powers within.

Editorial Review

Many years have passed since the darkness of Damians armies was repelled and Damian was banished into another realm by mans Demigod hero, the Divine. While men enjoy their first years of real peace, Damian breaks free from his bonds and returns to the world of Rivellon to take vengence on he who imprisoned him. To do so Damian takes control of the minds of the worlds rarest and most power beings: The Dragon Knights, whom he unleashes on to the world. It is one of them who kills the Divine. With the dragons now on the side of evil, many young men and women of Rivellon have taken up the role of ridding the world of these dragons - they are known as Dragon Slayers

Divinity II: Ego Draconis 3 out of 5

I have enjoyed playing this game on the PC. I have discovered some minor bugs, which were annoying, but overall, getting to the point of actually playing as a dragon is a lot of fun. There aer easy quests that can help with experience and money. There are also a couple of encounters that "seem" out of place, but that adds to the enjoyment (it isn't a strictly linear progression). It is fun to play and there are decent abilities to pursue.

Diamond in the rough 5 out of 5

I'll tell you right up front: I wasn't expecting much from this game. But it has really blown my socks off.I'm just about at the endgame sequence and thus far the game has provided me with hours and hours of fun. The graphics are reasonable, the game play is fun and the story is excellent. I'm already trying to plan out how I'm going to build my character in the second play thru :)

A few other reviewers said that they felt the game was too hard at high levels but so far I haven't found that to be the case. I'm a casual gamer, and usually when I buy a new game I go right for the 'easy' setting. I'm more interested in the story than I am in twitchy gaming. I didn't think this game was too hard at all. You just have to know how to manage the enemies. It's definitely not one of those games where you run and stand in front of the monster and start mashing buttons. I spent a LOT of time in motion.

I loved the combination of flying as a dragon and then morphing and fighting on the ground and back and forth. The puzzles in the game were pretty cool. I used quick save a LOT on the few that were 'jump from ramp to ramp to get to the top'. You know the one: some ramps fall when you step on them, some are constantly in motion. But there were also lots more cerebral puzzles.

The story itself seemed to be fairly original as well.

I did come up with a few nits:
1) can't be played in a window--always takes over the entire screen.
2) I wish it had a key press that would highlight or somehow point to items you can interact with. I got tired of trying to open/use every graphic object in the game.
3) I've gotten spoiled on the BioWare games with 'relationships' and there's none of that in this game.
4) some of the mechanics of the interface were annoying. lots of modal dialogs, so if you're doing one thing and want to check something else, you have to close the thing you were doing, go look and then come back.
5) too few mob models.
6) a freaking TON of crafting ingredients, components etc. You don't want to throw any of it away because it will most likely be useful when you get your battle tower, but it takes up a lot of bag space.
7) only 8 hotkeys for spells/skills

But overall this is one of my three favorite RPGs of the last few years. Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age:Origins are the others :)

Save Often, Hard, Frustrating, No Satisfaction. 3 out of 5

Game is written wonderfully, amazing graphics, awesome storyline, the best voice acting i've seen in any RPG ever. Too bad every single fight is an Epic battle. I swear, any engagement you'll come across in this game is an intense fight for your life. Nothing is easy, making this game extremely lacking in the fun factor overall. The quests are so much fun, the rewards are pretty cool, but every enemy engagement is ridiculous. There are usually about at least 2 to 4 enemies at a time, and they'll always be your level or your level +1, which makes this ridiculous. Creatures don't respawn so you have no chance of getting more experience to level for the harder areas. And you only get 4 stat points per level, and 1 skill point. So getting your HP/MANA base up is horrifically hard. Not to mention the gear in the game isn't exactly RPG worthy, the stats are laughable and the weapon looks need to be upgraded, they pretty much all look alike with minor differences, i've not encountered a weapon with particle effects yet (even the heroic weapons. The game tosses in some aspects of Fable you might find helpful. Such as the Skills window that shows you what each skill will do via a video. Also the combat is all on your own, there is no Autoattack like seasoned Everquest/Everquest 2 Players are used to. So you have to dodge your own hits, jump to avoid, roll, etc.

The game overall is pretty fun (yet frustrating at times). I just can't enjoy leveling a character but reaping no benefits from it. You'll level but the fights you'll encounter as you level will be just as hard as they were before (as you level you'll go to new areas that have mobs your level, and they are just as hard as the previous ones were for your previous level). I'm going to try and finish this game, the storyline is fun, I do enjoy the classic Lucasart-like option to select what you want to say to NPC's. This game overall has a great sense of humor that will keep you laughing, plenty of treasure to hunt for, side quests to keep you occupied, an in depth story line, and the option to choose exactly how you want the game to proceed. You can be a nice guy, or you can be a brigand, you'll decide.

Looks like they will also be adding another expansion called "flames of vengeance" to divinity 2 sometime soon that will update the graphics engine and add another 20 or so hours of play. This games a good play if you like a challenge. This game is 100 times better than Risen & Dragon Age Origins, so I would definitely recommend it, but for the thousandth time, don't say I didn't warn you about every fight being hard! :)

A lot of potentional, but horrible ending 2 out of 5

The game on an overall is a good RPG graphics a little dated, game play slow starting out but gets fun about 3-4 into the game, the ability to transform into a dragon and battle and do quests is a nice novelty, not to mention fun. Plenty of quests and the size of the world is good easily a 60+ hour game to complete everything. Also the voice acting was decent on an overall.

The bad, story could have used some work, graphics were a bit dated they could have been better, controls and direction of the game could have used a little work, and the ending of the game is the worst I've seen in over 20 years of gaming. The ending and lack of any possible good ending of the game makes it a don't buy in my judgment. If I knew the ending was that bad I never would have bought the game to begin with.

Worst written game ever 1 out of 5

I play a lot of PC games and have for many many years. I work for a software company. I played the first two Divinity games and loved them. The graphics and plot of this game seemed good and I was very excited to play this game when I got it. I however, have been unable to play the game because of so many issues causing the game to either not load, freeze, lag, or crash. After looking at the forums I see so many other people with the same issues. I emailed tech support and after a few basic questions, was told that they cannot help me. I have returned the game to never buy another game from Larian studios again.
Buyer beware. Check the user forums for the game to see the possible issues and playability.
