Just As Good As The First One - Maybe Better 5 out of 5

By now, the first installment of Professor Layton is well-known to DS owners as perhaps the best non-action game ever made for the platform. This second installment may be even better. The concept is exactly the same: you travel with Professor Layton throughout an interesting narrative, solving brain-teaser puzzles along the way. You are given some latitude, but ultimately you must solve the majority of the puzzles to "win" the game and solve the mystery.

This game, despite having the same type of puzzles as the first one, is still different and fresh. The main story is different and interesting.

What's better about this game is there is more actual animated sequences in the game, which adds to its cinematic quality. What's not quite as good is some of the puzzles seem a bit forced -like the authors had to really wrack their brains to come up with new ones.

Overall a wonderful experience - my 9 year old daughter and I solved this game together. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much her puzzle-solving skills had progressed after the first game. She could solve a large percentage of the puzzles.

This may be the only DS game you don't mind letting your kid play for hours!

Great for All 4 out of 5

The Professor Layton series is perfect for the casual gamer but can also appeal to intermediates or advanced players. It is a great game to play on the go and doesn't require a large block of time to play. The game features unique gameplay with the players answering brainteaser that range from tricky to downright challenging. This gameplay is layered over an engaging mystery story as intriguing as most mystery books. While the gameplay is fun and engaging it starts to get dull at some points. However, it is definitely worth playing to the finish. I recommend this game to any players 10 and older, including adults!

Umm...Wow 5 out of 5

So, I got this game for Christmas from my brother (and the previous one the christmas before) and I've loved them. I honestly don't know how but this game just messed with my mind. With out giving any spoilers I'm just saying...wow...I love how ironic the endings always are and how it can just get you thinking weeks after you finish it. Also, on another note, the puzzles were great. I'm now in the process of replaying it to see if I can remember anything so I don't always have to use all of me hint coins. =/ But I'm serious, this game was amazing and anyone should buy it.

the sweetest most fun game i've ever played 5 out of 5

First I found this game much more easier than the curious village, most of the puzzles are challenging but fun, some of them i still don't get i just guessed through them jaja, but the story line is perfect, almost made me cry, the graphics awesome, I loved it, and recommend it to anyone who likes puzzles slash mistery games, worth every penny !
