These chargers are a great design by Canon, I have the same thing for my 5D Mark II. The fact that the prongs fold in is a huge blessing, no more holes poked in pockets of camera bags. What's NOT a blessing is the price, this is a simple plastic design that probaly cost four bucks to make, the price is too high, hence only 4 stars. This is common with Canon. However, the convenience to me is worth it, the only other option is to pull out the charger that came with the camera, unravel the two cords, then charge the battery in-camera. If you have two batteries you can't charge one while using the other, UNLESS you get this CG-800. So, pricey, but extremely useful and convenient, so much so that I did buy one and not regretting it now.

Canon know how to make quality products. The only problem is they know it and they design their devices to intentionally not work with third party equipment.

The charger is designed extremely compact. It had a folding wall plug that appears sturdy. The battery clips in nicely. Above all it charges the batteries perfectly.

Thank you Canon for making good stuff, my credit card company thanks you as well. It is just so darn expensive for what it does.

I own a Canon VIXIA HFS20 and charging the battery by plugging in the full camcorder is a bit of a pain. This little dandy is small, compact and charges your batteries in record time. If you are a semi-serious videographer you need this. A little expensive but worth it,

The charger fully charge the Canon battery in less than 45 minutes every time. Great charger.

This is not incredibly cheap but its a good product. Particularly for travelling. It fits well into my camera bag.
