perfect 5 out of 5
Does null modem and connects two serial port adapters perfectly. Lower cost and more compact than using two separate converters or cables.
Great device in small package 5 out of 5
Performs null modem function without having a bulky adapter. Already had male-male straight cable so this worked great by screwing it directly onto laptop RS-232 port (Syba expressCard port). The price was great!
Works as expected, durable. 5 out of 5
This has worked well for me to extend a connection from a fire alarm system to a monitoring station. It was durably constructed and performed as advertised.
Works fine with my equipment 5 out of 5
Works:
I've verified that these correctly function as null-modem adapters. Also, in the batch of about 20 that I ordered, none of the ones I received are duds.
Great price:
Consumer retail null-modem adapters are often roughly $10 or so. I was very grateful to find this item for such a low price.
In fact, due to the low price and low weight, I ordered a couple dozen. The S&H only increased slightly between quantity of 1 to a quantity of 20, which makes sense because these are so small.
Simplifies life:
Because of this slim Null Modem adapter, I no longer have to guess whether a serial connection between two devices requires a null-modem cable or not. Instead, I just use a plain serial extension cable, and then if the connection doesn't work right away (or, for a dead givaway, one side of the connection is male-male), popping this adapter right in the middle is a quick and easy solution.
